What is a Scott schedule?
A table that answers a claim item by item: for each item, the claiming party’s allegation and cost, the responding party’s position and cost, and a column left for the reply, the agreed position or the court’s or tribunal’s decision. It is used in commercial dilapidations, housing disrepair and building defect disputes.
Can a landlord use it to answer a housing disrepair letter of claim?
Yes. The housing disrepair templates for England and Wales follow the landlord’s response under the pre-action protocols: whether each defect is admitted, partly admitted or denied, the reasons, any point on notice or access, and the works with their start and finish dates. It prints with a column left for the tenant’s reply.
