Three inspection priorities in Saudi Arabia

1. 1.Make location and phase traceable on large developments

   New cities and multi-building developments can have repeated unit types, staged handovers and changing access routes. Capture plot, building, floor, unit and inspection date consistently, then link each observation to a photo. Where the visit crosses a construction zone, completed unit and temporary access route, note the phase boundary and the party who provided entry. This reduces ambiguity when a contractor, owner and facilities team review the report later.

2. 2.Record heat, dust and cooling-related context

   External exposure, dust accumulation and heavily used cooling systems can affect what is visible during a visit. Note the affected elevation or room, current operation and any access limitations instead of inferring a cause. A specialist should assess performance, commissioning or concealed defects where required.

3. 3.Match the report scope to the applicable SBC route

   Saudi Building Code requirements depend on building use, work type and the adopted code volume. Confirm the instruction and authority path before the visit, then distinguish observed defects from documents that need review.
