B2B Deployment
Microsoft Intune
Assign the private app and its activation configuration to the same managed-device group.
- 1
Sync and assign the private edition
Bring the B2B app into Intune through the appropriate store connection. Assign it as required or available to your pilot group, using the private identifier rather than the consumer app.
- 2
Create a managed-device configuration
In Apps → Configuration, create a policy for Managed Devices and choose iOS/iPadOS or Android Enterprise. Target the B2B app. This uses operating-system managed configuration; it does not require our app to contain the Intune App SDK.
- 3
Add the activation value
Use activationCode as a String, populated from the B2B Account setup pack. On iOS, the portal also provides a property-list/XML format. On Android, use the app’s managed-configuration field. Assign the configuration to the same pilot group as the app.
Confirm the Pilot Before Expanding
Check both app-installation and configuration status in Intune, then open the app online and match its installation reference to the licensing portal. An Intune policy assignment alone does not confirm activation.
For Managed Devices: Activation Configuration
In the portal, open your organisation → Activation Codes → QR & Setup Pack → MDM Configuration. Select your platform to download the relevant configuration. Keep actual codes and downloaded packs within your authorised team.
The configuration key is activationCode, with a String value. The value comes from your private setup pack; the example below is a placeholder.
{
"activationCode": "YOUR-ACTIVATION-CODE"
}Use the format required by your console: the portal offers iOS property-list/dictionary and Android JSON formats. Apply it to the private B2B edition, not the consumer app.
Open B2B AccountVendor Documentation
Console labels and available features depend on your platform and subscription. Check the current vendor instructions alongside this guide.
Deployment guidance reviewed 8 September 2026. Managed configuration does not imply support for every vendor’s separate app-protection SDK or policy.
