Jamf Pro

Use Apple volume purchasing to deploy the Custom App, with its managed activation configuration.

    Sync volume-purchased content

    Acquire the Custom App in Apple Business or Apple School Manager, then sync that Apps and Books location into Jamf Pro. Check that the app record and location are available to the relevant Jamf site.

    Scope the managed app

    Assign the mobile app to your pilot devices or users. Configure managed installation and the applicable volume-purchasing assignment in accordance with your Jamf deployment policy.

    Attach the configuration

    In the mobile app’s App Configuration settings, use the iOS dictionary from the private setup pack. The activationCode key must contain your organisation’s actual activation value. Keep the app and configuration scoped to the same devices.

Confirm the Pilot Before Expanding

Confirm Jamf has delivered the app and configuration. Open the app online, then compare its installation reference with the Devices tab in your B2B Account.

For Managed Devices: Activation Configuration

In the portal, open your organisation → Activation Codes → QR & Setup Pack → MDM Configuration. Select your platform to download the relevant configuration. Keep actual codes and downloaded packs within your authorised team.

The configuration key is activationCode, with a String value. The value comes from your private setup pack; the example below is a placeholder.

Use the format required by your console: the portal offers iOS property-list/dictionary and Android JSON formats. Apply it to the private B2B edition, not the consumer app.
