B2B Deployment
Kandji
Deliver the Apple Custom App from Apps and Books through your Kandji deployment.
- 1
Sync Apps and Books
After acquiring the private edition in Apple Business, sync the location into Kandji. Custom Apps are supported through this integration. Select the correct B2B app in the Library.
- 2
Assign a pilot deployment
Add the app to the intended Blueprint or assignment and confirm installation on a pilot device. Use the Apps and Books item for the iOS app, rather than a macOS Custom App upload.
- 3
Configure or scan
If your Kandji iOS app item exposes managed app configuration, supply activationCode as a String using the portal’s iOS setup pack. Confirm that option with Kandji for your environment. If it is unavailable, use the ProSurvey QR code or enter the activation code after installation.
Confirm the Pilot Before Expanding
Check installation in Kandji and activation in the app separately. The device is licensed only when its reference appears in the B2B Account and the app confirms access.
For Managed Devices: Activation Configuration
In the portal, open your organisation → Activation Codes → QR & Setup Pack → MDM Configuration. Select your platform to download the relevant configuration. Keep actual codes and downloaded packs within your authorised team.
The configuration key is activationCode, with a String value. The value comes from your private setup pack; the example below is a placeholder.
{
"activationCode": "YOUR-ACTIVATION-CODE"
}Use the format required by your console: the portal offers iOS property-list/dictionary and Android JSON formats. Apply it to the private B2B edition, not the consumer app.
Open B2B AccountVendor Documentation
Console labels and available features depend on your platform and subscription. Check the current vendor instructions alongside this guide.
Deployment guidance reviewed 8 September 2026. Managed configuration does not imply support for every vendor’s separate app-protection SDK or policy.
